Have lost count of times here - first in 1978! It never disappoints - completely relaxing and too short a stay. We spent a lot of time around the lake enjoying the company of ducks and a soggy game of tennis. Friends came for lunch last Sunday and were very impressed.
We came here on honeymoon 10 years ago and Louis (7) says " I really enjoy it"
We are immensely grateful to Topher for stepping into the breach as babysitter (and I believe bringer of midnight feast) to enable us to celebrate our anniversary at Monachyle Mhor. Did the Wallace monument for the first time ever and was very impressed; lovely woodland walks around. Found a great deli "G" in Stirling and an amazing sweet shop. Rounded o0ff our week with a ritual visit to Mhor fish in Callander. Already planning next years stay.

"A" Frame Chalet

Overview

We have three, 2-storey, "A" frame chalets, each about 15 meters back from the shore, and about 10 meters apart. All three - Osprey, Heron and Cormorant - enjoy stunning, panoramic views across the lake and beyond to Ben Lomond or Osprey Point. Patio area has a picnic table with heather beds on either side. With bird feeders and nesting boxes all around, wildlife is most definitely on your doorstep... ducks included! Bed linen, towels, tea towels, eco cleaning products, starter pack is all included in the price.

Kitchen

'Heron' and 'Cormorant' have oak and 'Osprey' has birch kitchen units. They have fridge, freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, electric hob and oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, scales, food processor, and all the utensils you need. Inventory available - just ask. Heating is from bottled gas and hot water from electricity. Gas and electricity are charged at cost, but the first £5 of electricity is included on weekly lets. Gas central heating is free from the first Saturday in June to the first Saturday in September.

Living/Dining

Open-plan living/dining with leather sofas, large flat-screen TV, CD/Radio/iPod dock and handmade coffee tables by Chris Carroll.

Bedrooms

The bedrooms differ slightly in that 'Osprey' has 1 double and a single room upstairs, whereas 'Heron' and 'Cormorant' have 2 double rooms upstairs. All 3 have a twin room downstairs. One of the double rooms has a low day-bed in the corner. Beds are all made up with fresh linen for your arrival - original architect drawings below.
