PONY TREKKING IN THE TROSSACHS

We’re really lucky to have this excellent Trossachs horse riding stables only 5 minutes from Lochend. Catering for riders of all abilities aged 4+, this friendly riding centre offers pony-trekking, Segway-treks, orienteering and quad pods, where children as young as three can be towed around the beautiful hill farm behind a quad bike.

Best horse-riding in the Trossachs

Gleneagles, Auchterarder

It’s a 40-minute drive to Gleneagles, where you can have riding lessons in their amazing indoor equestrian centre or go pony-trekking round the rolling, heathery estate. Superb views, lovely terrain, with a world of other country pursuits to try, including shooting, off-roading, fishing and falconry. And, if you fancy it, there are various lovely restaurants to book into for afterwards, too, including Scotland's only two-Michelin- starred restaurant, Andrew Fairlie.
