Coach House is a beautiful, traditional stone cottage, and the largest holiday rental here at Lochend. Sleeping up to 10 guests, this former stable is ideally suited for large families or groups of friends, with a lovely conservatory lounge off the kitchen/dining room, outdoor dining furniture on decking above a private garden, and a hot tub overlooking fields and rolling farmland.
The garden, though not huge, is perfect for kicking a ball around, and has a mature Victoria Plum tree bearing beautiful fruit in September, which guests at Coach House are more than welcome to enjoy. The decking is a lovely spot for long summer lunches, or for that first cup of morning coffee, with sheep often wandering right up to the garden fence.
The kitchen in Coach House is dominated by a long, hand-made elm dining table that seats up to 10 – just right for big groups of mates and clan gatherings. The kitchen steps down into the conservatory, so there are lovely views from the dining room out over the surrounding fields.
Coach House kitchen has solid oak units with a SMEG fridge freezer, separate larder fridge, washer/dryer, dishwasher, electric hob and oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, Nespresso machine, cafetiere, scales, food processor and all the utensils you need. Click here for a full inventory.
Light and airy, the conservatory lounge – or Sun Lounge as we optimistically call it (!) – is just off the kitchen and has two new sofas, a flat-screen TV, double patio doors leading out onto the decking, and lovely views out over the garden and fields.
There are five bedrooms in all, including a cute ‘Box Room’ at the top of the landing. Downstairs, there are 2 bedrooms, one kingsized and one super kingsized, both zip and link beds and looking out over the surrounding fields. The first adjoins the main bathroom with Jacuzzi bath; the second has its own en-suite bathroom with a large shower.
Upstairs there are 2 identical twin rooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom with shower. The landing area between these rooms has a writing desk and two low, small single beds which we have made into a ‘Box Room’ with circular shutters and curtains. These cute, cosy dens are particularly popular with younger guests.
Beds are all made up with fresh linen for your arrival.
There are four bathrooms in Coach House, including two en-suite bathrooms upstairs (both with shower), and two en-suite bathrooms downstairs (both with shower). One of these – the main downstairs bathroom – has a second entrance off the hall, and has a Jacuzzi bath.
The garden decking just off the Sun Lounge has garden furniture and a table comfortably seating 8, and is a lovely spot for that first cup of coffee, or for long, lazy lunches in the summer sun. Also on the decking, Coach House has a large Hot Tub easily accommodating six adults, although as Lochend is such a tranquil place we do ask guests not to stay in after 10.30pm! Unlimited use of the Hot Tub costs an additional £150 per stay.
The rear of the cottage has its own yard with parking for up to 4 cars.
Bed linen, towels, tea towels, eco cleaning products, and all heating and electricity is included in the price of your stay. Also on arrival, you will find fair-trade tea, coffee and sugar in your accommodation, as well as salt, pepper, milk and Tunnock’s teacakes and wafers.

An optional ‘End of Stay Clean’ for Coach House costs £60. Should you wish to use the Hot Tub, we charge an extra £150 per stay for unlimited use however there is a strict 10.30pm curfew.
