“Two-bedroom cabin beside the Lake of Menteith”
Pine Lodge is a pretty, wee log cabin some 15m from the Log Cabins, with views from the open-plan kitchen/lounge over a wild duck pond and the Lake of Menteith just beyond. Bird and bat boxes on the trees in front of the patio make this a great option for wildlife lovers.
Pine Lodge is our 2-bedroom cabin that’s set just apart from the other Log Cabins – in its own wee spot. It enjoys a view of the wild duck pond, and across the lawn to the lake. You’re still only 75 metres from the water’s edge.
With its log-burning stove, this is a cabin to get cosy in. Though in summer months, you can slide open the glass door and enjoy indoor-outdoor living, with your own patio and outdoor furniture.
Just opposite the chalet are bird and bat boxes, attached to the nearest tree, making this a great place to observe the local wildlife up close. Lochend attracts all sorts of birds, including oyster catchers, and the famous osprey which fish in the lake in spring and summer. We also spot pine martens, occasional red squirrels and, of course, our clan of happy ducks which live and breed by the water here.
Pine Lodge’s Jacuzzi bath will soak away any sore limbs from Trossachs walks. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need for a group of 4 in this single-storey cabin. All our Lochend Chalets accommodation is individually decorated and Pine Lodge has a cosy contemporary and inviting style.
Pine Lodge has a solid birch kitchen with integrated electric oven and hob, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, Nespresso machine (with a few pods supplied), cafetiere and scales, and all the utensils and pots and pans you should need for 4.
The dining table for 4 is by the glazed sliding door, offering views out while you eat. Or choose to eat al fresco on the patio if the weather allows.
Pine Lodge is a single-storey log cabin with an open-plan living/dining area offering a wee wood-burning stove, around which is an L-shaped sofa and comfy armchair. There’s a large flat-screen TV, DVD player, and Bluetooth speaker for use inside, too.
The circular dining table and 4 chairs look out to the duckpond, lawn and lake beyond, just 75 meters away, through the glass sliding door. Outside, the patio is perfect for outdoor dining, or just relax in the big hanging egg-chair with a book and a view of the water.
Each of our chalets is decorated individually, and Pine Lodge has a contemporary cosy style, with a comfortable, warm and inviting atmosphere.
Pine Lodge sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms: one double room looks out over the lawn and wooded area; the other is a twin room on the tennis court side. In all Lochend Chalets bedrooms, I have given them an individual touch with unique lamps, cushions and artworks that I’ve picked out specially for each.
Beds are made up with fresh high-quality Egyptian cotton linen for your arrival.
The bathroom in Pine Lodge is limestone tiled with a Jacuzzi bath and integrated power shower, plus loo and sink.
Bathrooms come with our favourite Arran Aromatics products.
