Wildlife at Lochend Chalets
Hidden away on 38 tranquil acres beside the Lake of Menteith, the shore and woods around our cabins and lodges shelter a wealth of Trossachs wildlife and all sorts of birdlife.
Perhaps the star at Lochend is the humble mallard. They were wild once, but know a good thing when they see it, and now congregate on the lawn and shore awaiting new arrivals who may feed them. Specially formulated duck food (along with bird seed) can be purchased from reception.
A Nature Trail snakes alongside the Goodie Burn in the trees behind the tennis court and Nick Nairn Cook School. Kingfishers can been seen fishing along the river here, as can two hedgehogs we rehoused from Ayrshire, who can often be seen at dusk, pootling about Lochend or along the nature trail.
Birthdays & Anniversaries at Lochend Chalets
With it's incredible views, natural beauty, peace, tranquillity and lots to do, Lochend is the perfect setting to celebrate special occasions.
Nicks Port Of Menteith Restaurant, just behind the tennis court, is an extra bonus for those who would prefer to outsource the catering, or celebrate in the lovely restaurant.
