Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers
The Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers (ASSC) was formed in 1978 by a handful of self-catering providers, including our Dad, Jimmy. A tenacious lot, they mostly battled the government to recognise them as a business and so award them business rates, but they were also committed to the principles of quality, and to promoting high and consistent standards in self-catering. They are principles that still guide ASSC today, and Lochend Chalets is proud to be a member.
Led, managed, and inspired by the people who own and run holiday cottages throughout Scotland, ASSC also has a second website showcasing some of the best, quality-assured holiday homes in Scotland.
Scottish Tourist Board
We have also been involved with the Scottish Tourist Board’s grading and classification scheme since its very beginnings. The scheme has been refined over the years, with the help of visitors’ feedback, providers’ opinions and officials who undergo regular training from Visit Scotland. We hope that it provides reassurance and gives you a guide to what you can expect from a visit to Lochend Chalets.
